Thank you for this wonderful music theory resource. All the information in this book is layed out in a clear and concise way. The lessons and short and easily digested. I will recommend that you take your time when working through the material. It starts off fairly easy, but accelerates significantly around lesson 8-10. I love the variety of learning tools contained within this book – like puzzles, word searches and other similar games that make learning the material fun for the student. I also love how this book has simple ear training lessons (the CDs are great too). As a teacher I think this collection is excellent. However, if you’re new to music theory I would recommend picking up book 1 separately rather than the 3-in-1 book. Books 2 and 3 are quite advanced and may leave you scratching your head.

Excellent for Adult Piano Students
As an adult piano student (learning on my own with the Piano Adventures series), I find that I needed additional music theory practice. Piano Adventures is supposed to be a stand alone program, but the series does not include enough theory practice to cause the information to “stick” in my head. Supplementing with this theory book has been the perfect addition to round-out my learning.

The best music theory book
This is the best music theory book. Each topic is divided into lessons that teach and reinforces by written exercises. The book is very organized and concise and unlike other music theory books…this book teaches note reading and composition. This is an excellent music theory book.

If you’re new to music, this book will help you tremendously. It’s very detailed and pretty self-explanatory.
