    Pieces of Eight!
This fabulous discovery is just what I needed to top up my own treasure chest. The precious gems contained in this book will help anyone living or working with those affected by developmental trauma. A much-needed resource for those of us who may have experienced a sense of scarcity when it came to finding magical user-friendly tools. I have often felt excited by book titles over the years only to be overwhelmed or bored by the content (and then felt bad or stupid). This book offers an abundance of empowering information and this time I actually feel like I have struck gold. Thank you for all the printable pdf documents that come with the book, these worksheets are awesome! They are so helpful for the team around the child. I love the celebration of relationship and could instantly see they formed the foundation of the book. Our relationships are without a doubt our greatest treasure and often sadly buried so deeply that we give up the hunt. Big respect and much love whoooooooshing out to Karen Treisman for restoring my faith. That you JKP for bringing this little beauty into our lives and into my therapy room….this really is a play therapist’s dream whooooohoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

    Excellent Resource – 1 observation
This is a great resource written by an incredible name in the field. My one observation would be that it would be better spiral bound – No damage caused when opening the pages wide.

It really is a ‘treasure trove’ of creative ideas to support children therapeutically
When you receive the book you will be amazed as it is A4, very thick and full of ideas, theories and worksheets. The book is well organised so that you can easily find the activities that support your chosen session theme. As well as the book having photocopiable worksheets it also comes with a code for a PDF download of them. I love the range of creative activities, which easily engage children. At the beginning of the book there are sections about the underlying theories and also details of how to complete and assessment. This is a book that you will find yourself going back to time and time again.

    Must have within trauma-responsive system
Over the last 18 months, I have been supporting my colleagues within a national children’s charity to develop a trauma-informed and responsive approach/system. This book has been an invaluable tool within this system change. Although we are still at a very early stage in creating this whole system, this book has really transformed our therapeutic work with children. The background info, explanations, visuals and examples are all particularly invaluable. Both staff and children find the worksheets and additional free resources engaging and easy to use. Relationships lie at the heart of this book and the resources within – it is therefore easy to embed. I can’t recommend it enough.

Don’t hesitate over this one – buy it!
Was drawn to this book after hearing of the launch via twitter posts. I follow the author on twitter & learn a lot from her so I decided to invest in buying this book. I was delighted to see the size of it on arrival & knew it was going to be a good one! The contents pages alone span 15 pages and give clear detail of what to find where so can be read start to end then easy to dive back into to find certain resources. I liked the balance of clear explanations of theory balanced by useful, practical activities that can be used straight away. It was definitely a good buy and this is a book you’ll want your own copy of to have it on your shelf when you need it. Definitely a key book in my ‘professional library’ now. Love it!
