Description
Are you looking for a fun and effective way to grow your Arabic language skills?
Some languages can be a real challenge to learn, and Arabic is definitely no exception. After all, it’s not easy to find easy, fun and accessible reading material in Modern Standard Arabic that caters to ALL audiences. However, this book has been created to change that.
A beautiful, enchanting and ancient language spoken by over 420 million people worldwide, Arabic is a language that will allow you to build your professional career and open up the world for you. Modern Standard Arabic, which we will deal with in this book, is the standardized, literary Arabic that is used in print and mass media.
The Arabic world is known for its excellent storytelling. Because of this, in this book we have compiled 20 easy-to-read, compelling and fun stories that will allow you to expand your vocabulary and give you the tools to improve your grasp of the wonderful Arabic tongue.
How Arabic Short Stories for Beginners works:
- Each chapter possesses a funny, interesting and thought-provoking story based on real-life situations, allowing you to learn a bit more about the Arabic culture.
- The summaries follow a synopsis in Arabic and in English of what you just read, both to review the lesson and for you to see if you understood what the tale was about. Use them if you’re having trouble.
- At the end of those summaries, you’ll be provided with a list of the most relevant vocabulary involved in the lesson, as well as slang and sayings that you may not have understood at first glance! Don’t get lost trying to understand or pronounce it all, either, as all of the vocabulary words are translated for your ease of use!
- Finally, you’ll be provided with a set of tricky questions in Arabic, allowing you the chance to prove that you learned something in the story. Whether it’s true or false, or if you’re doing the single-answer questions, don’t worry if you don’t know the answer to any — we will provide them immediately afterwards, but no cheating!
We want you to feel comfortable while learning the tongue; after all, no language should be a barrier for you to travel around the world and expand your social circles!

This book is very useful and fills a gap in the market. It is fun learning with basic children’s stories. I found it hard because I am still a basic beginner 🙂 … but the effort is rewarding.

Nice to progress when learning languages
It is nice when learning a language to be able to read something. But it is difficult to find something interesting and easy enough to do so. Children stories are sometimes not what you want to read. Then this book is of short stories comes in handy and is a good medium to work (and progress) with your language journey.
Esther Fernández Medina –
comprehensive and helpful
I started reading it right form its launching, and it has a lot of upgrades as diacritics and vocabulary section. As the stories are a little bit harder than beginner’s, those are helpful details. I think I will improve my Arabic reading with them.

Not for beginners!!!
Not for beginners. I speak fluent Egyptian dialect been studying Arabic for 6 years but want to improve my MSA reading. I find this book almost incomprehensible the stories are very confusing and the language extremely advanced. Every story has a completely new list of completely complicated vocabulary. I will keep this book because it’s ok for my level but any beginner will be seriously shocked and demotivated.

A bit above my level but I am enjoying it.
This is a bit above my level but I’m finding it really useful. I have to look up at least one word in every sentence but I am enjoying it.
