Description
The inimitable wombat who shared her adventures (eating, scratching, digging, sleeping) in the wildly successful Diary of a Wombat is back–with a baby! This time, it’s the baby who tells the story. And a perfect wombat story it is, featuring eating, scratching, digging, sleeping, and playing, as well as the important task of finding a new underground home big enough for baby and Mum. Wry, understated humor and gorgeous, funny illustrations make this new picture book a brilliant next chapter in the wombat saga.

Buyer Altert
Buyers should be aware that this book has also been released under the title, “Baby Wombat Week.” That being said, the story (no matter under which title you buy it) is delightful. The author has created a series of books about the especially endearing wombat. Adults will enjoy them as much as children. Her book, “How to Scratch a Wombat..,” gives us facts about wombats and her encounters with these little creatures.

hehehe
Had read the reviews on this book and decided on it for my niece. It is a cute comical story, not quite as funny as the first(diary of a wombat) but in the same vein. Your kids will love it.Lovely art work, simple sentences and big print. a great early book for baby and toddler, the pages are paper so it more a book to read to them than to let play on their own, but trust me they will enjoy it.

Lovely story, wonderful illustrations.
We just love all of Jackie French’s Wombat series books and hope more are to come. Each of these books are beautifully illustrated, and follow the trials and tribulations of a wombat. On our recent trip to Australia from the US, our young son was most excited to see wombats because of these books. They are lovely stories. You won’t be disappointed!

I fell in love all over again
Okay, so maybe the title is a slight exaggeration, but not too much. I was looking up the precursor (Diary of a Wombat) to order a copy for my mother so she could read it to my nephews when I stumbled across this gem. I ordered myself a copy and if the original is a hit with the boys, then she will be getting a copy for her library soon enough. I, personally, loved this one almost as much as the first and would recommend it to anyone I know. I am 27 and have both books in my personal collection…no kids, it is just for me.

A good book, but not as good as the original.
I know it sounds obvious, it’s hard to compete with the original. Diary of a Baby Wombat is cute, but I wish it would have tried harder to stick to the diary style that Diary of a Wombat was written in. The funniest parts of both books are when it describes the wombat’s actions with a few words, but this is the majority of the first book, while this book strays from that too often.

Great illustraions and fun for all ages!
Love the Diary of a Wombat books! The illustrations are really cute and the stories are really cute. There isn’t too much to read on each page, but the series is a great addition to any kids library.I also recommend “I Want My Hat Back”
