Excellent to support home learning
My child never used capitals or full stops, this book has really helped.

Great book
I like this book. It has all the topics taught in the curriculum. It’s nice to go over what the child is learning or about to learn.

A great deal packed into a small workbook
There is an awful lot packed into a little in this workbook, which complements other study resources CGP publish. There are three sections, on grammar, punctuation and spelling, but by far the largest (30 pages) is on spelling where each major “sound” in English gets own page. As such it follows the phonetic-based new primary curriculum, and allows parents at home to help their children without confusing them by trying to do it “the way we were taught”.The grammar pages – all five of them – really only deal with “and”, while punctuation – also five pages – is linked to capitals, full stops, spaces, question marks and exclamation marks.Unlike some other workbooks for Year 1, there is no colour in this so it looks a bit uninviting at times, but the exercices are varied and interesting, including word searches, crosswords, and cloze exercices that should keep interest up. Its also probably something to have at hand for the whole year, maybe doing a page a week to support what is being done in school.

Perfectly helpful
Bought for refreshers and recaps during lockdown. Was actually really helpful to my 6 year old. We still use it even though she’s back at school.A must have for lockdown learning

Quick delivery and engaging activities
Perfect for my Home Educated son who is in year 1. The book is easy to follow with minimum input from myself. The book is structured well with a nice selection of activities.
