THE UNPUTDOWNABLE NEW THRILLER FROM THE MASTER STORYTELLER
‘Only someone like Jeffrey Archer . . . could have written a compelling story like this. Every page bristles with suspense and the ending comes at you with the force of a tank round’ DAVID BALDACCI
London, 1988. Royal fever sweeps the nation as Britain falls in love with the ‘people’s princess’.
Which means for Scotland Yard, the focus is on the elite Royalty Protection Command, and its commanding officer. Entrusted with protecting the most famous family on earth, they quite simply have to be the best. A weak link could spell disaster.
Detective Chief Inspector William Warwick and his Scotland Yard squad are sent in to investigate the team. Maverick ex-undercover operative Ross Hogan is charged with a very sensitive – and unique – responsibility. But it soon becomes clear the problems in Royalty Protection are just the beginning. A renegade organization has the security of the country – and the Crown – in its sights. The only question is which target is next in line…
Over My Dead Body hit #4 in the Sunday Times bestselling charts on 4th June 2022.
Gary Hart –
I am looking forward to the next William Warwick novel, but will have to wait until it is published. Starting with Kane and Abel many years ago, I can say that I have read every one of Jeffrey’s novels, and they have brought immense you – this one is no exception. One thing I found annoying – the incorrect grammar surrounding a collective noun. Eg – “a young couple on the steps of RAH WERE kissing.” Or “a group of people WERE running down the street”. Probably a small issue in the scheme of things, but I guess that I am picky about English grammar. These irritants did not, however, stop me from enyoying the novel. Keep them coming!
DAVID WHITE –
An easy read but nothing outstanding. The constant double crosses and deceptions become a bit tired. Some of the plot elements seem recycled from his other books.
Jude Livingston –
Another enjoyable William Warwick novel. As Archer has stated it is a work of fiction, but I did enjoy the sceneries with the Princess. No doubt we will be hearing more of Miles and Christina. Worthy advertisinies of William’s.Three and a half stars.
VAL TUFREY –
Most people raved about this book. But I am inclined to agree with the couple of reviews that said it was ‘simplistic’. I also found it confusing keeping up with all the dodgy transactions..Perhaps I wasn’t in the mood. Stephen Leather writes much more gripping scenario. I read it cause I paid for it. sorry.
Lynda Lake –
I felt that it didn’t end properly which makes one think there will be another book coming in the near future…
