What details!!
When one brings up a story amongst other story lovers and collectors and suddenly you agree on one forgotten too long, it is a delightful moment. This happened at dinner with our daughter-in-law and three grandchildren and there seemed to be a heartsing between us. We were eating meatloaf and mashed potatoes and English peas; then we started remembering the story. I had forgotten the twenty mattresses; others had forgotten the test; we started putting it together, found it on the computer, read it to the children as they bathed. Then, I started searching for the prettiest books to buy. We found this one and are passing it around to pour over the many details, to delight in the way this storyteller recalls the dialogue. Next, I will make with my granddaughter 20 different mattresses so that she can act out this story, prompted by this charming book.

Lovely book
We bought this book for our granddaughter who is turning 4. This has quickly become one of her favorite. The illustrations are lovely and vintage. IT is a nice rendition of the story and reads easily out loud to a young child.

Excellent version of a classic! Preschool Teachers!
Little Pencil Finds His Forever Friends: A Rhyming Pencil Grip Picture Book (Early Childhood Series) (Volume 1)
This is an excellent version of Princess and the Pea. My preschoolers loved it. We acted it out and had lots of fun with it. Teachers of PreK For All in NYC can use this book, it’s a classic and doesn’t have any violence in it. The pages are not overridden with verbiage, which can be a problem for little ones who cannot concentrate for too long. The pictures are lovely! Get it!

Pictures are ok, but I expected them to be even nicer.
Good version of the tale, with its moral still being there.
