   A little damaged, but otherwise great
   Everything you would expect in a book from the “Dummies” series. Unintimidating and well structured.I think the reader should have an A-Level in maths and physics before starting this book, and watched some YouTube videos on the subject. It’s very definitely not a book for the absolute beginner.It does place into context all the random snippets you may have picked up about Quantum Physics, and gives the mathematics associated with things you already knew.Remember when your school maths teacher told you that multiplying two negative numbers gives a positive. If you just accept that, go with it and not question too much what it means, the concept is relatively easy. That’s kind-of the approach taken in this book.People shouldn’t complain about the book being “Mathematical”. That’s what Quantum Physics is. It’s not intuitive, it’s not pictures. All we have is maths. You can’t understand Quantum Physics without understanding some maths.Some of the pages had slight tears at the edges. I think the paper was catching in machinery at the factory. It doesn’t look like the damage was caused by Amazon employees. For the price, not worth sending it back. (I just knocked off a star.)

   More of a condensed treatment than a “For Dummies” version
   This book has much more math than I wanted, so maybe I would call it more of a concise study guide for a physics student than a “For Dummies” text. I’m OK with the math (engineer by career), but I was hoping for the backstories of how the theories were arrived at and the logical progression that led to the conclusions (more like the vignette of the accelerating space elevator and how Einstein arrived at gravity’s effect on light). The first couple chapters read this way, then the remainder of the book turned to matrices, derivations, and formulas — no additional dimensions, no string theory, etc. So, if you are looking for the most important equations to memorize, this is the book for you. If you are looking for more of an evolution of the science and how quantum physics evolved, maybe not as good.

   For those already struggling with Quantum Physics check this book out
   I would highly recommend this book to anyone studying Quantum Physics at school or self-study.It is a great supplement to the many textbooks on Quantum Physics.I’ve bought many other good reference books on Quantum Physics, all of them that included extensive math,but I actually got through this entire book, and understood what was covered.For that alone, I have to give this book five stars.While many have expressed frustration with the implied “Dummies” category,I have to tell you, that for someone who has struggled with Quantum Physics through free college lecturesavailable on iTunes U or YouTube, this author did a great job covering a large amount of the core material.The book is not just lectures notes.The author explains the material as he presents it, something that is missing from most text books.I was so impressed with the book, that I bought both the paper copy and Kindle ebook.This book and Quantum Mechanics DeMystified are two of the best books I’ve found of this subject.Neither is easy, but for those who are struggling with this subject material,I would highly recommend both.Of the two books mentioned, this one is easier.But I would give both books five stars.A word of warning.This material is challenging and even hard.If you intend to take on the math, then check out these two books.If you are looking for an excellent intro to the Quantum world,check out “Quantum A Guide for the Perplexed” by Jim Al-Khalili.
