I’ve just finished reading The Mindful Entrepreneur and found it to be a truly excellent experience. I appreciated it from two perspectives, one as well written text, engaging and action packed and two as an extremely useful management guide. Howard’s story is fascinating and makes great reading, it shows the stress and pressure of running an enterprise, but also the creative pleasure he derives from his business. Joel’s coaching awakens a deeper understanding of purpose which changes Howard’s approach from being technically involved with every aspect of the business, to being able to remove himself from the nitty gritty to a position where he can turn the enterprise around and actually lead it to success. Aryeh adds an even deeper level of functioning to Howard’s life, taking spiritual truths and packaging them into a functional system that allows Howard to improve his life appropriately. A holistic approach to work-life balance comes across. The difficulty is acknowledged, Howard understands that it is at critical times that a person needs to drill deeply into themselves to keep this holistic approach as a real way to cope with the ups and downs of running a business. I have found this text very useful, not running my own business but rather being involved in management, Joel has given wonderful systems and tools to assist anyone in the business world in making a success of one’s situation. I will be reading this text numerous times as have found it a useful tool in dealing with the difficulties inherent in management. The book is a fantastic read, a great tool and will help anyone who has the courage to allow themselves to look deeper into tier life circumstances. Howard’s story is inspiring and shows how a person, who has a mission to achieve can do so, can overcome giant hurdles and above all, not allow the pressures of running a business destroy their family lives. It’s all about mindfulness as Aryeh, the proponent of this concept, brings across once again brilliantly. I believe that reading this text has benefited me theoretically and plan to put this into practice in my own life. I am sure many others will follow suit. Thanks to Joel,Aryeh and Howard for a wonderful journey from cover to cover. Bracha V Hatzlacha.

The real-life story-telling style of this book makes it very clear how to apply the underlying theory via practical tasks which have been proven to succeed. I am using it to plan my new business and have never felt so confident in how I’m going about it. Very thankful for the Amazon recommendation, especially as the author is Australian and by some weird twist of fate lives a few streets away from friends I happened to be staying with whilst reading it (didn’t know at the time)!

I got this book on Friday evening and finished it a 5:30 AM this morning (Sunday). Couldn’t put it down! I read a lot of autobiographies of business leaders and many books on running businesses, successful habits of entrepreneurs and so on but never have I read a book that so clearly relates to my own issues in my own business. I run a small business and, like Howard, I have no real idea of cash flow, identifiable business systems or a systematic focused and targeted marketing and sales goals. I pretty much know what is in my bank account, how much stock I have on hand and I invest in ad hoc marketing or advertising opportunities that appeal. This book has made me reevaluate how I do what I do with some specific suggestions that I can implement straight away.I don’t know if I would have had the mental fortitude to pull myself out of the situation Howard found himself in at his lowest point, even with the Support of Joel and Areyeh. This book speaks directly to those of us that run very small businesses, on our own, with no mentor to support and guide us. I feel a little foolish reading some of the steps that Howard went through because, in many cases, they are pure common sense and I can understand what a great effect they could have on me. I worry what would happen if I was knocked over by a bus tomorrow. What would my wife make of the business and how it was structured and would she be able to continue it on her own. Starting tomorrow, I am going to take my first steps in making sure that every process in my business is documented and tested for the longevity of my business locally and to make the lives of my distributors and agents overseas easier. Thanks so much for this, you have really opened my eyes and motivated me to do something about the causes of the stress in my life. 10/10
