Finally! It is here! I have been waiting months for this book release and have been unable to put it down since I received it.When I discovered CBS and ACT, I was disappointed that there was little information specifically geared towards younger clients. Now, I am glad to say that there will be no more internet scouring for tidbits of information. The authors have done an impeccable job in creating and explaining their new model of approaching ACT work with adolescents. It is an intriguing new take on the adult-centric ACT model. I love that the model focuses heavily on what’s important to the youth because often, I have found that the easy trap is to assume what is important for a particular youth in the service of one’s own goals for the youth. I appreciate that the book confronts this potentially dangerous pitfall that I myself have found myself in.You will not regret purchasing this book. It builds on tried and true, researched based therotical models, with wonderful case examples and handouts throughout. Don’t come in looking for a-z treatment manual, because you will be left disappointed. So then, if you want a book that will challenge your work with youth that will only serve to improve that work, this book is for you!

There are easier ACT approaches for teens
It has great exercises but the DNA-V approach seems a little difficult for some adolescents. It requires a lot of immediate expression and introspection for most of the examples and exercises. I feel like I would use this more with adults and a more traditional ACT approach with adolescents

Great book. Very useful on my private practice (psychology). Lots of useful skills and activities to use in therapy
