This book is adored by my youngest daughter – perfect as she was starting school.

Penelope Rex is just starting school but her quest to make friends is threatened by her tendency to eat her classmates. She can’t control herself because children are so delicious. But no one wants to be friends when they might be eaten suddenly. Penelope is sad but it’s not until she finds out how it feels to be someone else’s dinner that she understands and changes her behaviour.A lovely, funny story about learning to put yourself in someone else’s shoes. The pictures are bright and vibrant and the story is inventive and amusing.

This book is hysterical!!
They read this book as entertainment during my daughters High School graduation. I was so amused I purchased it for my young niece and nephew. They love this book and make my brother read it regularly.

Frequently requested title for first grade!
Our first graders crack up at this story of Penelope Rex’s first day of school. The title went missing from our library, so they were thrilled when I surprise them with a new (used) copy! I suggest this as a night before first day of school book for those who are nervous to meet new classmates!

Such a Cute Book
It’s so cute. Really helps put how your actions affect others for young children. Basically learning the Golden Rule the hard way. And the illustrations are so cute too!
