This is a brilliant introduction to working in a child and adolescent mental health service. I would highly recommend to anyone who is about to work in CAMHs. I used this as part of my clinical psychology training having had no previous experience of this service. Chapters include: the set up and structure of the service including CAMHS and its relationships to tier 2 services; outcome measures used; childhood difficulties – ADHD, self-harm, anxiety and depression.

This is used for work purposes by other member of staff so I am not able to give a true picture. It’s relevant to the work we do.

Great for student nurses
A great read for student nurses who are studying mental health or child field. Covers child development and mental health issues encountered in practice with reference to good evidence and suggested methods of assessment and engagement within the wider MDT.
