I thought this book was going to be a five star read for me, and it potentially could have been. I loved the premise, there were lots of twists, and I enjoyed trying to figure out who was behind it all, but the pacing just didn’t quite work for me.What I liked:👍 👍 👍 👍👀 The concept of this book was pretty cool. Millions of people commute to work everyday, and the idea that someone could be watching you is eerie and unsettling. It made this book somehow more relate-able because it could have been you.👀 The last couple of chapters. WOW. I could feel the characters’ panic and anguish as if it were my own. I am not going to say anymore because of spoilers!.👀 I liked how the feeling of paranoia grows throughout the novel, and suspicion is cast on many people within the protagonists life, increasing her anxiety and leaving her with no one to trust. many red herrings, many tense situations, much atmospheric dread.👀 The epilogue of this book was draw dropping!What I didn’t like:👎 👎 👎 👎👀 This book went for way too long. I think it probably could have skipped about 75% of the book. This would have fixed all of the pacing issues that I had, and would have keep the tension throughout the novel.👀 This is a fun thriller, but it requires the reader to accept its premise without questioning its logic, a lot of the nitty gritty isn’t explained, and I am not sure how possible some of the “watching” would be… However, if you can suspend your belief, you’ll probably enjoy this one.

‘I Let You Go’ was one of the most talked about books last year due to the belter of a twist that left most readers in shock. I read the whole thing in a few hours, so it certainly had the hard-to-put-down quality that the best thrillers need. It was then a no brainer to buy ‘I See You’… however I kept putting off reading it in case I didn’t like it as much. I had nothing to worry about, it was another belter.In ‘I See You’, Claire Mackintosh’s writing is as addictive as before, it is an utterly chilling and original story that will make everybody reconsider their behaviour as how predictable they are. A creepy set of dating-profile style advertisements in a newspaper are mysteriously linked to a series of crimes against women – but who is posting these profiles?? The plot follows Zoe Walker, who fears she is the next victim after seeing her own face in one of the advertisements, as well as an investigating police officer – Kelly trying to stay one step ahead of the website’s twisted purpose.The story feels like a cross between a psychological thriller and a crime thriller. There’s Zoe who seems to be a victim that makes her paranoid and a nervous wreck, then there’s also Kelly, a police officer who manages to wangle herself onto a case that she thinks has something to do with what is also happening to Zoe and the more they dig the more they find … and so it builds.‘I See You’ is a brilliant edge or your seat read. It’s one of those novels that will have you second guessing everything and questioning every characters intentions. Two thirds of the way through I thought I had sussed it but actually I honestly didn’t know whether I was coming or going and by the end it was the twists and turns in this that I Loved which kept me guessing to the end and left me utterly exhausted yet thinking for hours after…

Clare Macintosh really is a fabulous author. She keeps the reader guessing and interested the whole way though a book, leaving you hanging at the end of each chapter. A fabulous psychological thriller with a few twists and turns near the end, especially the very end. I didn’t not see that coming. Find out for yourself 😉

I was bored reading it and skipped through parts. The main character didn’t seem real and she didn’t grow or develop. She was also really weak and unappealing for a main character. I usually like mysteries but not this one.
